US Open (tennis) 2009 ended yesterday with a shocking result. roger federer and serena williams, both seeded as world top ranking were out of the champion for this grand slam.
result for US Open 2009:
Men's Final: Juan Martín del Potro DEF Roger Federer, 3–6, 7–6(5), 4–6, 7–6(4), 6–2 Women's Final: Kim Clijsters def Caroline Wozniacki, 7–5, 6–3 Women's doubles: Serena Williams / Venus Williams def. Cara Black / Liezel Huber, 6–2, 6–2
some of the shocking world top players out were:
(female): Jelena Jankovic, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Dinara Safina, Ana Ivonovic etc.
(male): Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic etc.
headline of this US Open 2009 were both from the top ranking seeded players;
SERENA WILLIAMS & ROGER FEDERER
both loses their cool during the match when it come to semi final and final for serena and federer respectively.
Serena Williams: Foot fault for twice and was given a violation of conduct for loses her cool when she threw her racket and rebuke to the linesman (literally its an asian woman) on the rounds and semi final respectively. this cause her to lose her match on the semi final with Kim Clinjster by giving a penalty point. while there is no proven technical support of her foot fault, it is impossible to make a foot fault for a second serve when it is her crucial moment. anyway, she did a public apology to the linesman, Kim Clinjster and officials for her inapproprate attitude towards handling her emotion. watch the video below for more details:
Roger Federer: loses his cool during the final match with Del Potro when Federer argued with chair umpire Jake Garner during a changeover. He said his opponent, Juan Martin del Potro, was given too much time to challenge a line call. "I wasn't allowed to challenge after 2 seconds. The guy takes, like, 10," Federer said.
oh well, to my own opinion, i do loses my cool during an impt tournament. who can control their temper especially to them, it is an important match where it is close to final? oh well, it pay a price towards your attitude of showing unsportmanship during any game.
Both of them are still my hot favourite in the tennis world today, still.
